INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, Director General of Industrial Zoning Development (PPI) of the Ministry of Industry, Imam Haryono, said the government will soon grant licenses to expand the industrial area to PT Virtue Dragon Nickel Industry.
"The plan will add to the permit of PT Virtue Dragon Nickel Industry which currently only has permits for two phases of nickel industry development, the first phase is 500 hectares (ha) with an investment of USD 1 billion and a second phase of 700 ha with an investment of USD 2.5 billion , "Said Imam Haryono in Jakarta (6/7/2017).
He explained that PT Virtue Dragon Nickel Industry proposed the addition of 1,000 hectares of land with a total permit for land management of 2,200 ha for Virtu Dragon Industrial Park. But the land proposed by the nickel company from China should shift the sustainable agriculture land.
"We from the Ministry of Industry are coordinating with the Ministry of Agriculture to find replacement areas," explained Imam.
In addition, Imam said, the government through the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial or National Land Agency (BPN) will also give a permit for the management of industrial area that is about 2200 hectares of it. It will extend the limit of maximum industrial area management permit application permits up to 400 ha for one permit.
"Currently we are just waiting for the application letter permit PT Virtue Dragon Nickel Industry to the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning," he said.
Earlier, Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman said it would call Konawe Regional Government to find a solution together. Currently, the solution offered is to move the farm to another place.
