Teacher's Duties Explain Students to Build a Healthy Soul

INDUSTRY.co.id - Bekasi - President Joko Widodo entrusted the nation's future to teachers teaching in all regions of Indonesia.

"To my teacher I want to continue to dedicate myself not just to teach, to run the profession, I leave the nation's future to the teacher," Jokowi said in his speech while attending the peak celebration of National Teachers Day and Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) at the Patriot Stadium, Bekasi, West Java, Saturday (2/12/2017)

According to the President, the teacher's job is to nurture and enlighten the students to build a healthy, mature, and unified soul of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

In addition, President Jokowi explained that the task of teachers cannot be replaced by technological sophistication because it is prophetic in addition to teaching academic, but also teaches the good to the younger generation.

Character education that can be done by the teacher is to carry out the mission of humanity and civilization by digging, awaken, and invite and move the soul of the students to truth and goodness.

"The commemoration of National Teacher Day should be a momentum for us to prepare young people who are responsive and tough," said President.

On that occasion, the Head of State to greet reverently paying tribute to all teachers in Indonesia by bowing themselves in front of tens of thousands of teachers who attended the stadium.

"For that I convey appreciation, high appreciation to all teachers in the country, teachers in the villages, teachers who are on remote islands, outer islands and in border areas," said the President.

He explained that thanks to the services of teachers he could serve as Head of State at this time.

A total of 38 thousand people attended the peak celebration of National Teacher Day and 72nd Anniversary of PGRI at Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi.

A number of officials who accompanied the President in the event were Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan, Chief of Staff of President Teten Masduki and Chairman of PB PGRI Unifah Rasyidin.
