INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Finance Minister Sri Mulyani expects more and more private parties to be involved in national infrastructure development, especially infrastructure that adds national connectivity.
"The government has created various schemes to encourage and convince the private sector to invest in infrastructure projects," Sri Mulyani said at the National Infrastructure Conference 2017 in Jakarta yesterday.
Sri Mulyani said the government has made PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia which plays a role to provide guarantee to infrastructure projects that have high risk.
"Infrastructure investments are usually long-term and over a period of government, therefore PT PII plays a role in ensuring that investments will be re-invested as well as benefits as stated in the agreement," she said.
According to her, PT PII has been running its role in the involvement of private infrastructure in the development of both planning and implementation so it is expected the private sector more confident and confident to invest in infrastructure.
PT PII President Director Armand Hermawan said with the National Infrastructure Conference 2017 is expected to open new opportunities in new investment and financing in national infrastructure projects.
"We are using the theme of Infrastructure Unifies Nation, because as stated by Mrs. Sri Mulyani, infrastructure development is very important to unite the nation, with the availability of infrastructure is expected to give impacts of economic and social growth," she said.
In addition, the activity is expected to also increase the knowledge of government agencies, especially local governments to utilize the scheme of Government Cooperation with Business Entities (KPBU) in the provision of national and regional infrastructure.
"This event also aims to provide reference to candidates for PJPK (Project Manager of Cooperation) and investors on how to implement KPBU in Indonesia," said Armand.
Armand added that currently PT PII has provided guarantees for 13 infrastructure projects under the KPBU scheme, Batang-Semarang, Balikpapan-Samarinda, Pandaan-Malang and Manado-Bitung, Jakarta-Cikampek II Elevated, Krian-Legundi -Bunder Manyar, Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan and Serang-Panimbang), Umbulan SPAM and all Palapa Ring Project packages ie West, Central and East with total investment value of Rp 141 trillion.
"The 13 projects are expected to be a reference for local and private government that investment in infrastructure is quite convenient and profitable," he said.
