INDUSTRY.co.id - Tangerang - President Joko Widodo emphasized that infrastructure development remains a priority for the government, especially the border areas, ports, railways, and road networks to the regions.

"Infrastructure development is aimed at fostering a populist economy," the President said at the Three National Pillar Coordination Meeting of PDI-P in Tangerang on Saturday (16/12/217.

In front of PDIP cadres, Joko Widodo stated that the government keeps working hard to build logistics infrastructure to border and remote villages.

According to the President, through infrastructure development, local products, popular products, and micro products will have competitiveness.

He also said the importance of infrastructure development in eastern Indonesia is still a concern.

The President also expressed his appreciation to the Minister of Public Works and People's Housing, Muhammad Basuki Hadimulyono who was also present at the PDIP meeting.

The President said PUPR ministers have struggled to build infrastructure in these areas.

Attending the event were PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri, Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla, and 3rd President BJ Habibie.

In addition, it appears the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Puan Maharani and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

The PDIP Coordination Meeting which took place from 16-17 December 2017 also included workshops and exhibitions of small, medium and micro business products.
