INDUSTRY.co.id - Pontianak, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of West Kalimantan Province (Kalbar) through the Official Statistics News released the export value of West Kalimantan in June 2017 down 15.58 percent compared to May 2017 from 51.20 million US dollars to 43.22 million dollars.

Head of West Kalimantan BPS, Pitono said rubber production, rubber and plastic goods experienced a growth in demand this year by 4.14 percent compared to the previous year.

"The three main export commodities in West Kalimantan in June 2017, inorganic chemicals (HS28) accounted for 53.68 percent, timber from wood (HS44) contributed 13.18 percent and rubber and rubber goods (HS40) accounted for 12.23 percent. Export of West Kalimantan in June 2017 is still dominated by Asian countries with a contribution of 92.50 while the contribution of export value to other major countries Argentina and the United States 4.69 to 2.61 to other destinations, "said Pitono through his official statement in Pontianak, West Kalimantan (2/8/2017).

He added that after three categories of goods that contribute the largest export value in West Kalimantan, there are 3 main commodities there are fat and animal oil HS15 crust and HS26 metal ash and HS08 fruits. There are 10 groups of HS 2 digits that contributed 99.04 percent to the export value of West Kalimantan.

"10 goods are inorganic chemicals (HS28), wooden goods (HS44), rubber and rubber goods (HS40), vegetable fats and oils (HS15), crust and ash (HS26), fruits ( HS08), food industry waste (HS23), tobacco (HS24), fish and shrimp (HS03), oily seeds (HS12), "he added.

The data also showed an increase from the second quarter of 2017 from the same industry by 0.32 percent while in the previous quarter by 0.08 percent. "The increase in natural products also comes from timber and wooden goods (exclude furniture) and wicker goods by 0.21 percent in the previous quarter by 0.12 percent," Pitono said.

Meanwhile, for the next sector is the food industry which decreased by 0.52 percent in the second quarter-2017 which contributed to the decline in production of large and medium manufacturing industries in West Kalimantan.
Pitono said the production of Large Manufacturing Industry (IBS) in the second quarter / 2017 quarter decreased by 0.36 percent compared with the previous quarter. Yet year on year (y-o-y) compared to the same quarter in 2016, quarterly IBS production growth now increased 0.63 percent.

According to Pitono, industry support from West Kalimantan came from micro and small manufacturing industries which in the second quarter of 2017 fell 0.45 percent and y-o-y fell 0.19 percent.

He mentioned that there are 15 industries of IMK Kalbar, consisting of food, beverage, textile, apparel industry, wood and wicker industry from bamboo and rattan, paper and paper product industry, printing industry and reproduction of recording media.

Furthermore, the chemicals industry, pharmaceutical industry, chemical products and traditional medicine, rubber industry, non-metal goods industry, non-machinery metal goods industry, transportation equipment industry, furniture industry and other processing industries.
