INDUSTRY.co.id - Denpasar - Garuda Indonesia is preparing options for one additional flight to accommodate high passenger traffic to Denpasar ahead of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meeting, in Nusa Dua, Bali, in October 2018.

"The existing capacity is quite adequate for that (additional flight)," said President Director of Garuda Indonesia Pahala N Mansury in Denpasar, Saturday (31/3/2018)

According to Pahala, his side is discussing the preparation with the government especially the additional flight that serves the route from the cities in North Asia to Bali.

In addition to additional flights, Garuda also prepare another option that is to change the route or "reroute" some flight schedule to the Island of the Gods.

"Some of the routes for example from Shanghai-Jakarta, Beijing-Jakarta, maybe if it still requires, we can do 'rerouting' through new Denpasar to Jakarta. It may be another option," he added when attending Dharma Santi Nyepi in Denpasar.

It is also ready to serve the needs of the delegation's flight if you want to explore tourism in a number of destinations in Indonesia after they meet in Bali.

Pahala optimistic it can provide optimal service with the power of the fleet that currently reaches 202 including Garuda and Citilink aircraft.

Tourism Minister Arief Yahya previously said that the flight route to Denpasar, Bali, a week before and after the implementation of IMF and World Bank meetings is full.

For that it expects the relevant parties including airlines anticipate the density of flights to the Island of the Gods.

The IMF and World Bank annual meetings are scheduled to take place from 8-14 October 2018 at BNDCC Nusa Dua, Badung regency, Bali.

The meeting is scheduled to be attended by more than 15 thousand delegates from 189 countries consisting of a number of heads of state, finance ministers, central bank governors, economic actors to academics and other relevant institutions.
