According to AzharLubis, the government welcomes the presence of foreign partners in Indonesia as one of the efforts to achieve economic growth targeted by the government.
"To achieve the economic growth target, we need some investment, we still need a lot of investment from foreign companies coming to Indonesia, it is not enough or not, but we still need it because we want to grow and grow," said Azhar.
He said this year Indonesia has an economic growth target of 5.2 percent and will be 6.1 percent in the next year. The investment requirement to reach the target of 6.1 percent is estimated at Rp863 trillion.
BKPM is not only looking for investors who are interested in investing, but those who are committed to being Indonesia's strategic partner in the long term. The government also prioritizes the experience and track record of every investor.
"If we hold one more promotion one-on-one meetings with investors who have a track record, experience, have strong funding, and have a lot of business activities in the field we offer," he added.
Previously, BKPM massively marketed the investment potential of the regions in Indonesia such as held Regional Investment Forum (RIF) in Nusa Dua, Bali to attract potential investors in the country as well as global investors.
In the event, BKPM presented a number of keynote speakers such as Indonesian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, as well as business representatives and potential investors from various countries, including Indonesia, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Singapore, Malaysia, India and several major countriesother.
BKPM is also keen to explore investors who have a commitment and a vision that is in line with the government, both investors who have become partners of Indonesia and new investors.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) of Industry Johnny Darmawan expects the government to support increasing the number of partnerships with private parties and global investors.
One of them is with public private partnership (PPP) scheme. This method can accelerate the development of industrial parks, both of which enter the development program of 14 government industrial estates and the development of other industrial areas.
"There are several things that need to be improved: The government can find solutions such as deregulation and debureocracy to facilitate global investors entering orBUMN who want to invest," said Johnny.
