INDUSTRY.co.id - Singapore- President Joko Widodo held a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Myanmar Unity, one of them expressed the desire of Indonesia to see the Rakhine State stable and peaceful.

"Indonesia's interests are only one, seeing the Rakhine State is stable and peaceful where its people including the Muslim community can live in peace," President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said during a bilateral meeting with President of the Republic of Myanmar Win Myint in Singapore on Friday (27 / 4/2018)

Therefore, President Jokowi affirmed Indonesia's readiness to continue to assist Myanmar. Primarily related to the return of refugees from Cox s Bazar to Rakhine State voluntarily, safely and honorably. In addition, Indonesia also encourages the implementation of Kofi Annan's recommendations. President Jokowi also mentioned about the entry of Rakhine State refugees into Indonesia.

The meeting was an introductory meeting between the new President of Myanmar and at the beginning of President Jokowi's working visit agenda in Singapore.

In the meeting, President Jokowi expressed good relations between the two countries that have been well established in a long time. "I hope this friendship can bring goodness to our society, to our region, and to the world," said President Jokowi.

President Jokowi also expressed his concern for the humanitarian situation that is happening in Rakhine State and its impact on Cox s Bazar.

President Jokowi explained the meeting was aimed at demonstrating solid cooperation and ASEAN leadership in managing economic growth to create better welfare, equality, and achievement of SDGs.

Also present at the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita, Moeldoko Presidential Chief of Staff, and Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore I Gede Ngurah Swajaya.
