INDUSTRY.co.id - NEW DELHI, The 2026 BRICS Summit produced the New Delhi Declaration, mutually agreed upon by BRICS member countries as a shared roadmap to translate various commitments into concrete actions and tangible results. The Declaration was adopted at the 2026 BRICS Summit held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the Republic of India, on Saturday, September 12.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi stated that the limited meeting session of the 2026 BRICS Summit proceeded in a meaningful and constructive manner, with various global realities clearly presented. PM Modi noted that global changes require reforms to global institutions, particularly in terms of representation, responsiveness, and rules of engagement.
“We must work through partnership and collective action to bridge the gap between commitment and outcomes. The ‘New Delhi Declaration’ adopted today provides a clear direction for our collective resolve. It is now our responsibility to translate these commitments into tangible results,” PM Modi stated.
On the occasion, President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of BRICS’ collective strength in ensuring that shared commitments yield tangible benefits to the people. According to him, this strength must not remain merely on paper, but must be translated into opportunities for the people while amplifying the voice of the Global South in determining its own future.
“This is the kind of collective strength we need. A strength that does not remain on paper, but is translated into opportunities for our people. Strength that enables the Global South to have a greater voice in shaping its own future,” the President said.
The Head of State added that the collective strength possessed by BRICS must also be utilized to construct a fairer and equitable international order. According to the President, cooperation among BRICS nations can serve as a powerful force to ensure that the voices and interests of Global South countries are increasingly taken into account in global governance.
“The same strength must also be used to build a more just and equitable international order. Together, we can make our strength count,” the President remarked.
The adoption of the New Delhi Declaration marks a key outcome of India’s BRICS Chairmanship in 2026, with a focus on resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability as guiding principles for the grouping.
