INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - AirAsia Indonesia has officially appointed Raline Shah as Independent Commissioner, after obtaining absolute approval from the shareholders of PT Indonesia AirAsia. Previously reported, Raline was appointed as a director.

President Commissioner of AirAsia Indonesia Pin Harris in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday (8/8/2017), said the appointment follows the absolute approval of the shareholders of PT Indonesia AirAsia on Monday (7/8/2017).

"I am very excited to welcome Raline into the ranks of the Commissioners, as well as AirAsia, it has inspired many Indonesian people to explore the world through the films that starred in. We are excited to be able to work together with Raline who brings experience, A new way of thinking, which can bring AirAsia Indonesia to the next level, "he said.

AirAsia Group CEO, Tony Fernandes rate Raline an intelligent, talented, young and independent.

"As we need to keep the company in the forefront, I am confident that it will be able to offer a fresh perspective on the market situation ahead of AirAsia Indonesia's plan to floor the market," he said.

Tony added that he also wants to be always relevant and close to the youth and millenial generation.

AirAsia Indonesia's President Director, Dendy Kurniawan, welcomed the presence of Raline in the AirAsia family.

Raline holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and New Media and Communications from National University of Singapore (NUS).

Raline first reap popularity in 2008 after coming out as the winner for the category of Puteri Indonesia Favorites in the election event Puteri Indonesia, also known as the Miss Universe of Indonesia.

Since then she had a remarkable career in the field of film, starring in her first film that achieved great success in 2012, "5 cm".

She was nominated as Best Supporting Actress in 2015 at the Indonesian Film Festival for her role in the movie "The Unwelcome Heaven".
