The Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Ngurah Swadaya said he would invite Singaporean investors to invest in Kendal Industrial Zone and three Special Economic Zones (KEK) of tourism, KEK Danau Toba, Borobudur KEK, and KEK Mandalika. According to Ngurah, Kendal Industrial Area which was inaugurated by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Joko Widodo last year will be increasingly heavily promoted as a labor-intensive business place that requires a lot of manpower.
"The Singapore problem is a limited land, so Kendal is a labor-intensive industrial area that provides a lot of land and labor," Ngurah told INDUSTRY.co.id on the sidelines of the launch of "Indonesia Investment Week Singapore" Chapter 2017 at Kemendagri Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (14/3/2017).

Ngurah also noted, in the last five years the value of investment from Singapore continues to increase. The biggest increase occurred in 2016, which rose 55% to US $ 10 billion.
Ngurah also mentioned other areas that are potential to attract Singapore investors are Batam, Bintan and Karimun. Because the three areas are very close to Singapore.
