Lombok International Airport when the earthquake occurred was crowded with foreign and domestic tourists. Airport officials immediately announced that all visitors immediately leave and vacate the airport to an open area.
As a result of the earthquake, several flights had to be delayed until an undetermined time.
The 15-kilometer earthquake had the potential to cause a tsunami. Communities around the shoreline have also been encouraged to evacuate themselves to higher ground and stay away from homes.
