INDUSTRY.co.id - BADUNG: The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs appreciated the opening of "Timeless Indonesia Festival II (TIF)" in Badung, Bali, Saturday (19/8), which was followed by seven kingdoms and sultanates, and lasted a week until 25 August 2017.

The seven kingdoms and sultanates are the kingdom of Sumedang Larang, the kingdom of Klungkung, the kingdom of Buleleng, the Luwu Regency, the kingdom of Cirebon of Deli Sultanate, the sultanate of Bulungan (Kaltara).

"Kemenkop and UKM are very concerned with tourism advances that highlight the richness of Indonesian custom and culture, because it deserves appreciation," said Prakoso BS, Deputy of Human Resource Development Kemenkop and UKM, after opening TIF 2017.

Prakoso hope this festival should not only stop here, but also must be followed by improving the quality of service to local and foreign tourists.

Prakoso gives an example, cooperative and SMEs that manage homestay, and tour guide (tour guide) needs to follow competency training of tourism which is expected to improve competitiveness and service to tourists.

The training was he said, specifically targeting and destined for Cooperative and SME managers homestay and tour guide (tour guide).

"The era of competition has spread to all areas and penetrated into all activities of cooperatives and SMEs without exception," he said.

He argues, this condition becomes a challenge for the development of Cooperatives and SMEs, especially the managers homestay and tour guide in the field of tourism is considered also facing a very complex challenge.

"They face many challenges ranging from the tight competition and consumer demands (Customer Demand) which requires qualified and professional human resources," he said.

"The problems related to competence, especially for human resources Cooperative and SMEs in the field of tourism is one national and even global issues to support sustainable development," he said.

To anticipate the impact that may arise, Prakoso said, the direction of human resource development Cooperatives and SMEs in the field of tourism emphasized on the control of competence in each field in order to compete at local, regional, national, and even international level.

The training does not only provide material about the management and service to the consumers either homestay or tour guide, but also followed by competency test to get the Certificate of Competence

It is expected that Cooperative and SME managers homestay and tour guide will be more capable and professional in carrying out its work.
