INDUSTRY.co.id - Halmahera-PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk continues to present various initiatives to strengthen national financial inclusion throughout the country. One of them is realized through the BRI Ship Terrace, a floating banking service solution designed to reach people on small islands and coastal areas that have limited access to banking services.

This was conveyed by the Director of Operations of BRI Hakim Putratama during a visit to the Terrace of the Seva II Ark Ship in South Halmahera, North Maluku, together with the Chief Marketing Officer of Danantara Indonesia Dendi T. Danianto, Vice President of Danantara Indonesia Danang Widiasurya and Danantara Expert Committee and who is also a Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga Fitri Ismiyanti on Thursday (4/6/2026). On this occasion, BRI also distributed BRI Care TJSL Program assistance in the form of production tools to UMKM Putri Bajo to help increase production capacity, strengthen business activities.

In addition to the Seva II Ark in South Halmahera, BRI also operates the BRI Ship Core of the Seva I Ark in the Thousand Islands which spans 6 islands, the Seva III Ark in the Anambas Islands which spans 6 islands, and the Nera Seva in Labuan Bajo which spans 10 islands.

"Since its launch in 2015, BRI has become a pioneer of banking services that reach the island community through sea transportation modes. This service provides easy access to transactions and financial consultations that were previously difficult for people to reach in coastal areas and islands," said Hakim.

Various banking services are also available through the BRI Ship Core, starting from the opening of savings accounts, loan services, payment transactions, to the provision of additional cash for BRILink Agents as an extension of BRI services in the community.

In addition, the BRI Ship Core is also equipped with a ATM unit that can be used by the Customer to conduct cash withdrawal transactions and other transactions. This service is supported by reliable information technology and competent human resources, including teller officers, customer service officers, and microcredit officers who are ready to serve the banking needs of the community directly.

Within the scope of the working area of the Ternate Branch Office, the Terrace of the Seva Ark Ship II is also supported by a service network consisting of 1 Branch Office, 3 Auxiliary Branch Offices, 8 BRI Units, 1 Cash Office. Service access is also strengthened through digital channels and e-channel networks which include 35 ATM/CRM, 705 BRILink Active agents, 249 EDC, and 11,016 QRIS merchants.

As part of its commitment to serve the country, the Seva II Ark Ship Core has reached the archipelago scattered in South Halmahera Regency through 8 travel routes, serving 5 islands and 8 port points in one five-day service cycle. The routes include Kupal, Bajo, Lele, Madopolo, Gane Dalam, Pasipalele, Saketa, to Kayoa.

The presence of this service is increasingly relevant considering that South Halmahera is one of the largest archipelago regencies in North Maluku. Moreover, this area has high financial access needs as well as great economic potential with more than 16 thousand UMKM and around 139 thousand workers in the fisheries, trade, and microbusiness sectors.

The benefits of this service are also felt by the Bajo people in South Halmahera. Through the BRI Ship Core, as many as 216 Bajo people have accessed various financial services, including financing for fishermen business actors and the kamplang crackers industry which is one of the superior products of the region.

Not only bringing access to financial services closer, BRI also supports the economic productivity of the Bajo people through the distribution of KUR amounting to Rp2.5 billion. The financing was used by fishermen for the purchase of ships and marine equipment, as well as for UMKM, a producer of fish crackers which became one of the superior products of the region. At the same time, the existence of three BRILink Agents serving around 400 transactions per month also strengthens public access to formal financial services and daily transaction activities.

"As a people's bank, the BRI Ship Core is a clear proof of BRI's commitment in delivering financial services to people throughout Indonesia, including archipelago and coastal areas. Through a service model that is directly present in the community, BRI not only expands financial access, but also opens opportunities for the community to develop businesses, facilitate economic transactions, and obtain access to formal financing," added the Judge.

The implementation of the BRI Ship Core is also in line with the spirit of service transformation carried out by Danantara through the CX100 program. Danantara Indonesia Chief Marketing Officer Dendi T. Danianto said that the CX100 Index was prepared as a barometer of the quality of BUMN services as well as part of the "Serve Wholeheartedly" campaign that encourages the transformation of more community-oriented services. According to him, the transformation is expected to strengthen BUMN's ability to understand and answer the real needs of the community.

"This transformation is expected to be able to make BUMN a public service provider that is not only operationally superior, but also humanist. Through synergies between companies, Danantara is optimistic that it can provide maximum benefits for economic growth and the welfare of all Indonesian people," said Dendi.
