INDUSTRY.co.id - Jambi - Jambi Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded growth in production of Large and Medium Manufacturing Industry (IMBS) in the second quarter of 2017, an increase of 14.44 percent compared to second quarter of 2016, while for national growth rose by 4.00 percent.
Head of BPS Jambi, Dadang Hardiwan, in Jambi Wednesday (2/8/2017) said, for the Food Industry group (code 10) experienced growth of 4.16 percent as well as the national growth rate of 7.04 percent.
As for the Chemical and Goods Industry of chemicals experienced growth of 1.30 percent and the national growth rate rose by 8.98 percent.
The growth of production of large and medium manufacturing industries in the second quarter of 2017 experienced negative growth of minus 1.30 percent compared with the first quarter of 2017, while the growth of national manufacturing industry production rose by 0.99 percent.
The types of industries that experienced positive growth in second quarter of 2017 compared to the first quarter of 2017, are chemical and chemical goods industry rose by 4.64 percent, while for the national growth rate rose by 0.50 percent.
For industries that experienced negative growth were Rubber Industry, Rubber and Plastic Goods decreased by -8.66 percent, while for the national growth rate decreased by minus 8.75 percent and this was caused by the decrease of raw materials from farmers.
"The fall in rubber prices has resulted in farmers choosing not to tap their rubber due to higher production costs and for the food industry down by minus 1.60 percent and for national growth rates by 8.59 percent," Dadang Hardiwan said.
