Ari Askhara, as the president director of PT Pelindo III said that now Pelindo III has started the assessment with the government of Kendal, and so far, the district government of Kendal gives a good response
“After Tanjung Perak i saw Tanjung Emas is very potential to be developed. Because the flow of in and out products is already crowded. In this case includes Kendal port which we will develop.” Said Ari,Thursday (8/6/2017)
He said in a port business, should not be too full. If in the area has begun to full of in and out of products and passenger, so it must be developed to other port. “of them through the effort to reclamation and the development of other port like Kendal.” He said.
Meanwhile, Commercial and Operational Director of PT Pelindo III, Mohammad Iqbal said that later will be a synergy between Tanjung Emas Semarang Port and Kendal Port. “ there will be a good synergy, because in Kendal or Semarang, the industry development is good, if in Kendal there is Kendal Industial Area” he said to the media who accompany him.
Regarding the development of the dock at Kendal Port . That is currently in the deepening stage of the pond and the extension of the pier. Currently, the new capacity can be docked for one ship. Later, with this development, hope could be to dock 3-4 ships. As for the cultivation field, later in the early stages is planned to be able to hold goods up to 100 thousand TEUs.
Although not yet like Tanjung Emas Port which has a capacity of up to 600 thousand TEUs, but development will continue to be done. “it is flexible, if the industry develops, the port should also develop, and the plan for initial phase can be done within the next two years” he said
