INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemkominfo) will soon prepare the infrastructure of 5G technology to face the 4th industrial revolution or industry 4.0.

"Kemkominfo focus on infrastructure, especially when we go to 5G," said Minister of Communications and Informatics Rudiantara at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of Jakarta (29/3/2018).

He explains, 5G technology has a speed 10 times more than previous technology. For now, 5G is only for the industry because the cost is five times more expensive.

The government plans to prepare 5G technology infrastructure in certain industrial areas with high digitalization level. The plan, testing the use of new technology will be done in 2020.

"The policy of allocating the frequency will Ministry of Communication and Informatics out 2018 to 5G.But the market is industrial, manufacturing," he said.

The government itself will soon establish a National Industrial Committee. Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto said the committee is needed to facilitate synergies between ministries and agencies in implementing long-term plans for the development of the fourth industrial revolution.
