INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded inflation rate in March 2018 of 0.20%. This figure is higher than the inflation rate of February 2017 of 0.17%.

The inflation for the calendar year in March is 0.99%. Meanwhile, annual inflation in February 2018 was 3.4% year on year (yoy).

Head of BPS Kecuk Suhariyanto said inflation in March 2018 was higher than March 2017 which experienced deflation of 0.02%, and also higher compared to March 2016 which experienced inflation of 0.19%.

"The price of commodities in March showed an increase," said Suhariyanto at the BPS office on Monday (2/4/2018).

He said by paying attention to the inflation target set in the state budget of 3.5% then the figure of 3.4% spelled out under control.

Of the 82 cities, 57 cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Jayapura City reached 2.10% and the lowest inflation was in Sumenep City by 0.01%

"While the rest as many as 25 cities experienced deflation," he explained.

BPS monitoring said that the highest deflation was in Taul City of 2.3% and the lowest deflation in Bulukumba City was 0.01%.
