INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Vice President Jusuf Kalla expressed hope that digital economic cooperation between the Government of Indonesia and China could increase in line with the increase of industrial investment in Indonesia by businessmen from bamboo curtain country.

"In the field of the digital economy, in addition to the increase in investment is also expected to contribute to China's industrial development, namely the development of software, hardware and human resources, I see the prospect of cooperation Indonesia-China promises both in terms of quantity and quality," said Jusuf Kalla in his speech at the Indonesia-China Business Summit 2018 in Jakarta, Monday night.

Vice President Kalla considered the digital economy industry to be a promising new sector for economic growth, and China became a pioneer country with a number of companies based on digital pioneering business.

"I am very optimistic that the future of Indonesia-China digital economic cooperation will continue to grow greatly, supported by the various policies of the governments of the two countries which are creating more healthy and profitable business conditions," he explained to the media crew.

In 2017, Tencent invested in Gojek of 1.2 billion US dollars, Alibaba invested in Tokopedia 1.1 billion US dollars, the consortium JD.com also invested in Traveloka for 350 million US dollars.

China is the largest trading partner for Indonesia since the conclusion of Indonesia-China strategic and comprehensive partnership five years ago in 2013.

Investments invested by entrepreneurs and the Chinese Government in Indonesia reached 3.4 billion US dollars in 2017; and China is also the second largest investor in Indonesia.

"The Indonesia-China partnership will strengthen with the agreement to build four integrated economic corridors in Indonesia," he said.
