INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, To support the government's Road to 8 million SME program by 2020, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Kemenkominfo) in cooperation with BLANJA.com, the Association of Indonesian Ecommerce (idEA) and Local Government held a synergy program to realize Indonesia's 2020 economic vision as' The Digital Energy of Asia 'by educating Indonesian SMEs.

Director of Information Empowerment, Septriana Tangkary stated, Indonesia has 57.9 million SMEs. "For that, SMEs are chosen as the representation of the people's economy because it can absorb almost 90% of labor and contribute 58% to the national Gross Domestic Product," Septriana said in Jakarta (9/8/2017).

As a first step in the program, Kemenkominfo, idEA, and BLANJA.com synergize for One Million UKM Go Online through roadshow to several cities in Indonesia. Semarang, Tanjung Pandan Belitung, Cimahi, West Bandung, and Jambi are the cities that have completed this implementation.

"From those 5 cities, there are about 1500 local SMEs who are ready to go Online, in the future, this synergy will continue to target other cities in Indonesia." Education and training also get full support from local government, "he explained.
