INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PET film plastic packaging manufacturer PT Trias Sentosa Tbk (TRST) plans to add three new metalizer machines next year to meet the growing market demand of 5% to 10% per year.

"Today, the factory already has eight metalizer machines, with the addition of three new engines, the production capacity of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic will increase by about 10 percent from the factory capacity," Sugeng Kurniawan, President Director of PT Trias Sentosa Tbk, (8/21/2017).

According to Sugeng, the Company has sold 2,000-ton PET plastic per month or installed capacity of 20,000 tons per year. "If we can continue to innovate, we can compete with South Korea and India in the export market," he said.

Sugeng said, metalizer machine is a major production facility of PET plastic. In the world, this type of plastic is mostly used as food wrappers so the company sells almost all of its production to the industry.

"Export to Japan is the largest in Asia, reaching 15% of total exports, with the largest share of exports to the US, 18% of total exports, our strategy to target the export market is to continue to produce products that have high added value," said Sugeng .

From sales records, in 2016, Trias exports up to 47% of PET plastics to several countries such as the United States, Japan, Australia and some EU countries.
