INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta – The rapid adoption of digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in Indonesia encourages the need for AI solutions that are strong, integrated, and adaptive to technological developments and industrial needs. Answering these needs, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) presents AIcosystem, an integrated AI ecosystem that unites AI capabilities in the TelkomGroup environment to support the use of AI in various sectors and present solutions that are relevant to the needs of industry and society.
As part of the AI TelkomGroup capability strengthening steps, AIcosystem was launched by Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini, Telkom Digital Director Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, as well as Special Envoy of the President for the Development of Young Generation and Art Workers (UKP Muda Seni) Raffi Ahmad, in Jakarta, Thursday (4/6). Along with the digital transformation that continues to be carried out by TelkomGroup, the presence of AIcosystem confirms Telkom's position as Indonesia's End-to-end AI Ecosystem Enabler through the development of comprehensive AI capabilities, ranging from infrastructure, platforms, to solutions and applications.
Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini emphasized that AIcosystem is a manifestation of Telkom's commitment to present AI as the foundation of digital transformation that provides real value for Indonesia. AIcosystem also makes TelkomGroup a collaborator and bridge for the community in optimizing the use of AI in business and daily activities.
"AI is not only the development of today's technology, but a new foundation of digital transformation that needs to be built collaboratively and sustainably. With AIcosystem, we bring together all the strengths of AI TelkomGroup so that Indonesia has a solid, integrated AI ecosystem, and is able to create a real impact for the community, business world, and the nation's competitiveness," Dian said in front of TelkomGroup's young digital talents and media crew, at the AIcosystem launch agenda entitled "Beyond Innovation, Impact for the Nation."
AIcosystem is designed as a AI ecosystem that orchestrates TelkomGroup's various capabilities in one strategic direction to deliver more relevant and value-added solutions. Through AIcosystem, the development of AI which has been carried out by each Operating Company (OpCo) can now be connected and move more synergistically to bring scalable innovations for the needs of corporations, governments, and society. This ecosystem compiles TelkomGroup's AI portfolio, starting from Telkom AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE), Telkomsel AI, Neutra Compute from NeutraDC, AI Infomedia, and AI Digiserve, to Telkom University.
As one of the drivers of AIcosystem, Telkom AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) plays a strategic role in the development of AI Telkom through five main pillars, namely AI Campus, AI Playground, AI Connect, AI Hub, and AI Native. The five pillars are formulated to encourage the wider adoption of AI through strengthening talent, collaboration, and developing solutions that are relevant and have a real impact.
Through five pillars, AI CoE encourages the comprehensive development of AI from upstream to downstream, from strengthening talents to implementing solutions. AI Campus strengthens collaboration with the academic world for the development of AI talents and research, while AI Playground opens space for exploration and utilization of AI for developers and the community. AI Connect brings together campuses, industries, communities, and Telkom in a collaborative ecosystem, while AI Hub accelerates the transformation of ideas and experiments into ready-to-use solutions. At the same time, AI Native encourages the implementation of AI in the internal workings of TelkomGroup to be faster, smarter, and more efficient.
Director of IT Digital Telkom Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi in his presentation explained that what distinguishes AIcosystem from various other AI initiatives is the AI fullstack approach that is built and developed end-to-end.
"AIcosystem is built with a fullstack approach so that TelkomGroup not only presents solutions in the form of applications, but also strengthensitsAI foundation through infrastructure, data, models, and platforms. This approach enables more secure solutions with multi-layered, scalable, and relevant security to the needs of businesses and public services in Indonesia. TelkomGroup is ready to support all adoption and needs of AI solutions going forward," explained Faizal.
The fullstack approach includes three main layers, namely AI Infrastructure, AI Models & Platforms, and AI Solutions & Applications. On the AI Infrastructure side, Telkom presents data center support, GPU, CPU, and memory as the foundation of AI computing. Meanwhile, on AI Models & Platforms, Telkom developed the AI platform, big data platform, data aggregator, and Large Language Model (LLM) which includes Bahasa Indonesia. As for AI Solutions & Applications, AI TelkomGroup has presented various applications and use cases tailored to the specific needs of the industry and public services. This at the same time opens up opportunities for the development of Telkom's digital business in line with the increasing needs of the industry for AI solutions that are increasingly intelligent and data-driven.
Unlike AI which is generally used individually, TelkomGroup's AI solution was developed to focus on supporting enterprise needs. By prioritizing private data, governance and security, and business system integration, TelkomGroup's AI solution is able to produce more strategic insights and decisions based on real data and ensure the security assessment process is in accordance with company standards.
