INDUSTRY.co.id - Bogor - The Information and Geospatial Agency (BIG), as the most important part of the country's resilience, has a target of completing a 50,000-scale geospatial map in 2018. This target was delivered by the Head of Information and Geospatial Agency Hasan Zainal Abidin during the ceremony commemorating the 48th anniversary of BIG which took place in Cibinong, Bogor. The Geospatial 48th Anniversary Celebration takes the theme of 'Geospatial Independence For State Security'.

Head of Information and Geospatial Agency Hasan Zainal Abidin said, at this increasingly mature age, the BIG he leads wants to be independent in human resources, geospatial data and information. "The geospatial industry must also be independent because the geospatial industry in Indonesia is currently less than 100. Therefore, the geospatial industry must be strengthened," said Hasan.

According to him, map 1: 5000 vital needs due to village mapping, spatial plan must use map 1: 50000. If not how to see the details, not to mention for the development of agrarian reform even this required map 1: 10000.

To accelerate the realization of the map, BIG also entered into an MOU with the National Professional Certification Board (BNSP), and the National Accreditation Committee, at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, for the addition of human resources.

In the festive celebration of the anniversary, BIG gave appreciation to the representatives of junior high school students Garut, West Java who made it into the top 100 innovators utilizing Geospatial information, in the BIG's 48th Anniversary.

"The application we created can record and direct photos of students' homes, but not perfect," said one representative of 9th grade SMPN 2 Garut, Adilla Rachmawati Pradana. Adila explains, making the application of poor student data using MIT App Inventor, the application based on android without Programming, which is practical for novice students.

Making the application involves four students, namely 9th graders SMPN 2 Garut Adilla Rachmawati Pradana, Rani Sandra, Rafli Muhammad Ridwan and seventh grade students MTSN Garut Fatir Agung Cahya. While the experiments use the application to empower 374 students SDN Regol 10 Garut who also joined in a group of mini computers.

The BIG head hopes from this race will grow more young entrepreneurs. Given Indonesia is still inferior to other countries. "South Korea alone already has 4% young entrepreneurs," he said.
