INDUSTRY.co.id - Makassar - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero) has realized the construction of the mega project of Makassar New Port (MNP) to 28.18 percent as of July 31, 2017.

"The realization exceeds the planned 27.69 percent at the end of July 2017 or there is a deviation of +0.49 percent," said Head of MNP Project Management Unit, Arwin in Makassar, Monday (7/8/2017)

He said Pelindo IV did try to speed up the construction of the MNP project.

According to him, the realization is the total of the construction of MNP phase I package A, B and C, each of which has reached 36.46 percent, 25.72 percent and 27.46 percent.

Activities that are currently being done, Arwin continued, on package A secant pile iron production and reclamation or replacement of soft soil (soil replace).

While activities for package B, currently under construction of concrete retaining land, reclamation or replacement of soft soil (replace soil) and armor production.

"This C package activity is armor production, material delivery and 'core breakwater' installation," he said.

Overall, MNP's mega-project construction phase I swallowed a total investment of Rp1.8 trillion and is targeted to operate in the third quarter of 2018.

While package A is projected to absorb a budget of Rp326 billion, B package Rp1.06 trillion and package C reached Rp228 billion.

This project is built on a package to be done simultaneously, so the completion is faster and done continuously. Meanwhile, the construction of the Package A MNP project consists of construction of road access, dock and container piling field which will have an installed capacity of 1.5 million TEUs In phase I, whereas in phase II it is planned to have an installed capacity of up to 2 million TEUs.

The Package B MNP project covers a reclamation of approximately 13 hectares, a "causeway" of approximately 1,276 meters, a container field of approximately 16 hectares and a dredging of a minimum draft pool of -16.0 mLWS.
