INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Industry encourages small and medium industries (SMEs) to utilize digital technology that is considered to provide significant benefits for business actors with an income increase of up to 80 percent.
"We encourage IKM actors to enter and utilize digital technology, one of them is through e-smart activities held by the Ministry of Industry in Bandung today," said Director of IKM of Wood and Furniture Goods (PBKF) of the Ministry of Industry, Sudarto, in his written statement. He said, based on research Deloitte Access Economics, more than a third of perpetrators of IKM in Indonesia is still using offline way in running its business. To that end, the Ministry of Industry encourages the perpetrators of IKM to switch to the onlie business pattern.
According to him, IKM e-smart became the introduction of IKM actors to 'go online' in their business. The Ministry of Industry held an IKM e-smart workshop to build an integrated database system with industry profiles, centers and IKM products integrated with existing marketplaces.
"Through the IKM e-smart is expected to be known the need for SME coaching and policy responses needed," he explained.
Sudarto said the IKM e-smart workshop is a follow-up of the IKM e-smart program of the Ministry of Industry, which was launched on 27 January. This event will be held in several cities such as Semarang, Solo, Purbalingga, Cirebon, and Cianjur.
In this workshop, the Ministry of Industry conveyed several government policies related to IKM development. Such as, facilities for strengthening human resources, mentoring and certification, equipment machinery restructuring program, and improvement of product quality.
Ministry of Industry also convey market development, product standardization, and technical service unit capacity building. In this program, Kemenperin takes the company in the field of marketplace, Bukalapak, which will facilitate IKM actors to develop an online business based.
