Players returning to Super Bear Adventure after a break may spot a new face in Bear Village. Her name is Grannytalus, and since Update 13.0 she is the one selling items and lootboxes.

The official changelog on superbearadventure.com records Grannytalus's arrival on July 20, 2026, alongside a major rework of the bear customization area. The change means the shops in Bear Village are split differently than in earlier versions.

Who Is Grannytalus?

The changelog for Update 13.0, titled The Bundles Update, says Grannytalus is the new shopkeeper in Bear Village and now handles the item shop and lootboxes. Her name echoes Capitalus and Capitalos, two merchant characters players already know.

Earthkwak Games does not explain Grannytalus's backstory in the changelog. What is clear is that the character mattered enough to be added to the game's end scene in version 13.0.2 on July 24, 2026. The same version fixed the collision on Grannytalus's stand so players no longer get stuck around it.

She arrived together with the reworked bear customization area, which brought a new interface, preset outfits, a search tool and sound effects when equipping items.

How the Bear Village Shops Are Split Now

After Update 13.0, each shop has a clearer job. Grannytalus sells items and lootboxes, while paid cosmetic bundles are bought at Capitalos' blue shop. The old Wheel of Fortune was removed in the same update.

Item Shop Rules: 18 Items, New Stock Every 8 Hours

The Super Bear Adventure item shop has changed several times. Update 1.9.0 introduced a shop whose stock changed every 6 hours. Update 1.9.6 then changed the algorithm so items were distributed more evenly.

The biggest change came in Update 11.0 on April 5, 2024. The cosmetic shop grew from 8 to 18 items, and the rotation time was extended from 6 to 8 hours. The Update 13.0 changelog does not mention any change to these numbers, so 18 items every 8 hours is still the latest recorded rule.

That means if the item you want is not in Grannytalus's shop today, wait for the next rotation. Checking the shop a few times a day is the simplest way not to miss it.

Lootboxes are now handled by Grannytalus as well. Since Update 11.0, the game has several lootbox types with different item counts and rarity drop rates. The changelog does not list the odds for each type, so the exact numbers can only be seen in the game.

There is one note for Nintendo Switch players. Update 13.0 removed PMK lootboxes, the Pierre Music Kit lootboxes, from the Switch version. Pierre Music Kit Vol.1 itself is now sold as a bundle.

Third, remember that shops and purchases are unavailable in speedrun mode since version 13.0.4. If you want to shop, switch back to a normal save. The current Super Bear Adventure version on Google Play is 13.0.8.
